SKS Aquatic and Land Management, LLC
Managed private pond with a decorative aerating fountain in Northwest Florida

Pond & Lake Management Serving the Florida & Alabama Gulf Coast

Pond cleaning, weed and algae control, dredging, aeration, bank mowing and stormwater pond maintenance — handled by our own licensed crews on a schedule you can plan around.

Overview

A pond is a living system, and left alone it fills in. We put ponds, lakes and canals on a management program — targeted aquatic weed control, aeration to keep oxygen moving, fountains that look good and work hard, and documentation that keeps stormwater ponds compliant.

What we offer

  • Mechanical aquatic weed removal
  • Monthly pond and lake maintenance plans
  • Licensed aquatic herbicide treatments
  • Fountain installation and service
  • Aerator installation and service
  • Shoreline erosion solutions

How the job runs

  1. 01

    Water assessment

We identify the species and the nutrient source driving the growth.

  2. 02

    Treatment plan

Licensed applications timed to the season, safe for fish and livestock.

  3. 03

    Aeration & circulation

Diffusers or surface units sized to depth and surface acreage.

  4. 04

    Ongoing service

Scheduled visits with notes, so the pond never gets away from you again.

Our ponds & lakes services

Mechanical Weed Removal

Our Weedoo aquatic weed removal boat cuts and collects heavy floating and submerged vegetation, taking the biomass out of the water instead of leaving it to decay. We identify the growth first, remove it in controlled sections to protect oxygen levels, and clear shoreline access where needed.

Monthly Maintenance Plans & Herbicide Treatments

Scheduled service keeps weeds and algae from taking over again. Monthly plans combine routine inspections, licensed aquatic herbicide treatments, vegetation control and clear visit notes. Applications are selected for the species present and applied at labeled rates with fish, pets and livestock in mind.

Fountains & Aerators

We size, install and service decorative fountains and diffused aeration systems based on pond depth and surface acreage. Better circulation raises oxygen, reduces stagnant water and helps address the conditions that feed recurring muck and algae.

Shoreline Erosion Solutions

We stabilize failing pond banks with grading, vegetation, stone and drainage corrections selected for the slope and water movement. The work can include clearing invasive growth, repairing washed-out areas, restoring access and protecting dams, spillways and outfalls.

What does it cost?

Pond work spans a huge range, because “my pond needs cleaned” covers everything from one treatment visit to moving thousands of cubic yards of muck. Volume and where the spoil goes are what set the price.

Common questions

How often should a pond be treated or serviced?

Most private ponds do well on monthly visits in the growing season and quarterly in winter. HOA, stormwater and retention ponds are usually monthly year-round because compliance and appearance both matter.

Is pond weed killer safe for fish, pets and livestock?

Yes, when it is applied correctly. We are licensed for aquatic herbicide application, treat at labeled rates, and stage heavy infestations in sections so dissolved oxygen stays safe.

What is the difference between pond dredging and muck removal?

Muck removal targets the soft organic layer on the bottom; dredging removes both muck and the underlying sediment to restore original depth. We survey the bottom first so you know how much material is actually there.

Do you clean and maintain stormwater and retention ponds?

We do — vegetation control, sediment removal, bank repair and outfall structure work, with written condition documentation. Where a permit requires a licensed inspection or certification, our field records support it.

Will an aerator or fountain fix my algae problem?

Aeration greatly reduces the muck and stratification that feed algae, and it is the best long-term investment for most ponds. It works best combined with targeted treatment and reduced nutrient runoff.

Which counties do you manage ponds and lakes in?

Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes, Washington and Bay counties in Florida, plus Baldwin, Mobile, Monroe, Escambia, Conecuh, Covington, Geneva and Coffee counties in Alabama.
