Marine Dredging & Sediment Removal in Pensacola and the Gulf Coast

Boat slip, canal, channel, pond and shoreline dredging with depth checks, permitting coordination, spoil handling and site cleanup.

Overview

When the slip is too shallow to float a boat or a pond has turned into a mud flat, dredging is the fix. We remove accumulated silt and organic muck, handle spoil placement and dewatering, and restore the depth the waterbody started with.

What we offer

  • Pond and lake dredging
  • Canal, slip and channel deepening
  • Muck and organic sediment removal
  • Spoil dewatering and offsite disposal
  • Pre- and post-dredge depth surveys
  • Overflow pipe and structure replacement

How the job runs

  1. 01

    Depth survey

We map the bottom so you know exactly how much material is coming out.

  2. 02

    Permitting

Agency coordination and spoil placement approvals handled up front.

  3. 03

    Dredge

Mechanical or hydraulic method chosen for access, volume and water depth.

  4. 04

    Verify

Post-dredge survey confirms the depth you paid for.

Our dredging & sediment removal services

Boat Slip, Canal & Channel Dredging

Migrating sand and accumulated silt can leave a dock unusable even when the structure is sound. We measure existing depths, define the target cut and remove material from slips, canals and access channels so vessels can move safely again.

Mechanical vs. Hydraulic Dredging

Mechanical dredging works well where equipment can reach and material can be lifted directly. Hydraulic dredging pumps a slurry to a dewatering area and can suit larger volumes or soft sediment. Access, material, distance and disposal determine the method.

Depth Surveys & Project Planning

A pre-work depth check establishes how much material has accumulated and prevents guesswork in the scope. Where appropriate, post-work measurements confirm the achieved depth and provide a clear record of the completed work.

Permitting & Environmental Coordination

Dredging often involves local, state or federal review based on the waterbody and material. We help define the project, coordinate required submittals and plan the work around access and environmental conditions.

Spoil Dewatering & Disposal

Removed sediment has to go somewhere. Depending on the material and property, spoil may be dewatered and beneficially placed on site or transported to an approved disposal location. The handling plan is established before dredging starts.

What does it cost?

Pond work spans a huge range, because “my pond needs cleaned” covers everything from one treatment visit to moving thousands of cubic yards of muck. Volume and where the spoil goes are what set the price.

Common questions

Do you dredge boat slips and residential canals?

Yes, where access, permits and spoil handling make the project practical. We inspect and measure the site before recommending a method.

Does the pond or canal need to be drained?

Usually not. Most marine and pond dredging is completed with water in place.

Where does dredged material go?

It may be dewatered and placed on a suitable part of the property or hauled to an approved disposal location, depending on the material and permit conditions.

How do you know how much sediment to remove?

We compare measured existing depths with the target depth and project limits. That survey information defines the scope more accurately than estimating from the surface.
