Seawall Construction & Repair in Pensacola and the Gulf Coast

Vinyl and concrete seawalls, bulkheads, rip rap and shoreline stabilization designed for Gulf Coast soil, wake, surge and drainage.

Overview

Losing a few feet of bank every storm season is not something that fixes itself. We install vinyl and concrete seawalls, place riprap revetment, and build living shorelines that hold sediment in place while still looking like a natural bank.

What we offer

  • Vinyl sheet pile and concrete seawalls
  • Riprap and rock revetment placement
  • Living shoreline and vegetative stabilization
  • Seawall cap repair, tie-backs and panel replacement
  • Bulkhead backfill and drainage correction
  • Bank grading and re-sodding after the work

How the job runs

  1. 01

    Erosion assessment

We find out what is actually moving the soil before quoting a wall.

  2. 02

    Engineered plan

Wall type, depth and tie-back spacing matched to your soil and exposure.

  3. 03

    Installation

Sheet piling driven, capped and backfilled with proper drainage.

  4. 04

    Restoration

Grading, sod and cleanup so the yard looks finished, not excavated.

Our seawalls & shoreline stabilization services

Signs a Seawall Needs Repair

Sinkholes behind the cap, soil washing through joints, leaning panels, cracks, exposed tie rods and a wall that moves under load all point to failure below the surface. We inspect the wall, toe, cap, tie-backs and drainage before recommending repair or replacement.

Vinyl & Concrete Seawall Construction

New seawalls are matched to the shoreline exposure, soil and usable-yard requirements. We set panels to the required embedment, install anchors and tie-backs, pour or repair the cap, correct drainage, backfill and restore the disturbed ground.

Bulkhead Construction & Repair

Bulkheads hold upland soil in place around canals, bays and protected water. We replace failed panels, caps and returns, rebuild anchoring systems and install filter fabric and drainage so fill does not continue escaping through the wall.

Rip Rap & Shoreline Stabilization

Rip rap absorbs wave energy and works well on sloped banks, at seawall toes and along shorelines where a hard vertical wall is unnecessary. Stone is sized and placed over filter fabric to a stable slope, with grading or vegetation added where appropriate.

Repair or Replace?

A sound wall with localized cap, panel, tie-back or drainage problems can often be repaired. Widespread panel failure, loss of embedment, severe leaning or recurring washout usually makes replacement the better investment. We explain the evidence before pricing either option.

What does it cost?

Seawalls are priced by the running foot, but the number behind that foot depends on wall height, soil, exposure and whether the existing wall can be saved. Repairing a sound wall is a fraction of replacing it — the trick is knowing which you have.

Common questions

What causes sinkholes behind a seawall?

Sinkholes usually mean soil is escaping through failed joints, cracks, drainage openings or beneath the wall. Repair has to stop that soil loss, not only fill the hole.

Can an existing seawall be repaired?

Often. Cap repairs, panel replacement, tie-back work, drainage correction and rip rap at the toe can extend a structurally sound wall's life.

Is rip rap better than a seawall?

It depends on the shoreline. Rip rap absorbs wave energy and suits a sloped bank; a seawall preserves the most usable yard where a vertical retaining line is needed.

Do seawalls require permits?

Most new walls and significant replacements do. Requirements depend on the waterway and jurisdiction, and we coordinate the needed submittals as part of the project.
