Dock Repair & Storm Damage Repair on the Florida & Alabama Gulf Coast

Piling replacement, decking and frame repair, racked and sagging dock correction, and full storm damage rebuilds — with photo documentation your insurer can work from.

Overview

A dock rarely fails all at once — it goes one piling, one stringer, one loose board at a time until a storm finishes it. We repair what can be saved and rebuild what cannot, on docks and piers across Northwest Florida and coastal Alabama. Most repair calls get looked at within a few days, and storm damage gets priority.

Our dock repair & storm damage repair services

Dock Repair vs. Dock Replacement

The pilings decide it. If the pilings are sound and plumb, repairing the frame and decking is usually a fraction of a rebuild and buys you many more years. If the pilings are rotted at the mudline, split at the cap or pushed out of line by a storm, money spent on new boards is money thrown away. We check below the waterline before we quote, and we tell you which situation you are in.

Piling Replacement, Splicing & Re-Driving

Marine borers, freshwater rot and surge loading all take pilings out. We pull and re-drive replacements from the water with our own barge, splice sound pilings where that is the right call, and re-set piles that have walked out of alignment. Because the barge is ours, a two-piling repair does not have to wait for someone else's schedule.

Decking, Stringer & Frame Repair

Springy boards, cupped decking and a frame that moves when you walk on it are structural, not cosmetic. We replace failed stringers and joists, re-fasten with marine-grade hardware, and re-deck in pressure-treated or composite depending on how long you want to go before doing it again.

Storm & Hurricane Damage Rebuilds

After a named storm the first job is triage: make it safe, stop further loss, then rebuild. We clear hanging and broken structure, secure what is left, and rebuild to current standards rather than putting the same failure back in the water. Storm calls get priority scheduling.

Insurance Documentation

Claims move faster with real evidence. We photograph the damage on the first visit, note what failed and why, and give you an itemized written scope and price an adjuster can process. If your carrier wants clarification, we talk to them directly.

Boat Lift, Boathouse & Seawall Damage

Storms rarely damage only the dock. We repair bent lift beams, replace cables and motors, re-roof and re-frame boathouses, and repair the seawall caps and panels that surge tends to take with it — all under one scope instead of four contractors.

What does it cost?

Nobody can price a dock off a photo, but the number is not a mystery either. Four things move it: how far out you have to go, how deep the water is, what you build it out of, and how hard the permit is.

Common questions

How do I know if my dock pilings are bad?

Signs include a dock that moves or racks underfoot, pilings that are visibly out of line, soft or hollow wood at the waterline, and hardware that no longer holds tight. A proper check has to look below the waterline, which is what we do on the inspection visit.

Is dock repair cheaper than building new?

Usually significantly, as long as the pilings are sound — the pilings and the pile driving are the expensive part of any dock. Once pilings need replacing, the gap narrows and a rebuild can be better value.

Do I need a permit to repair a dock?

Repairs in kind to the same footprint often need less than new construction, but it depends on your county and waterway, and expanding the footprint always triggers permitting. We confirm the requirement before we start and handle the submittals.

How quickly can you repair storm damage?

Storm damage gets priority scheduling, triaged by safety — anything actively breaking apart or blocking access first. Most repair inspections happen within a few days of your call.

Will you repair a dock you did not build?

Yes. Most of our repair work is on docks built by someone else.
